Standard Application

This F-1 Application is for the following F-1 applicant types. If you’re unsure which application to use, please email sandiego@inxacademy.edu.
- F-1 Initial (Applying outside US)
- F-1 Change of Status
- F-1 Transfer/
- F-1 Reinstatement
F-1 Applications are accepted year-round, with four enrollment intakes per year, except F-1 Initial. F-1 Initials are only accepted in Session 1 of each term.
F-1 Change of Status may apply after 90 days from date of entry on the Form I-94.
Please submit your Admissions Portfolio 30 days before the session deadline date to ensure timely processing.

1. Comprehensive Training Options
San Diego Workforce connects job seekers with training programs in high-growth fields — including healthcare, construction, technology, security, administrative jobs and more. They work with 130+ training providers to offer classroom, online, and hands-on training that leads to certifications or job placements.
2. No-Cost or Subsidized Training
Many training programs can be funded through federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grants, meaning individuals may be able to train without paying out of pocket for tuition, materials, or certification costs.

Participants don’t just sign up for classes — they get one-on-one career navigation, including:

This guided support helps you choose training that’s a good fit and stay on track through completion and job searching.
4. Job Search and Placement Assistance
Alongside training, San Diego Workforce helps people actively look for jobs through career centers, workshops, resume support, hiring events, and connections to employers looking for skilled candidates.
5. Support for Barriers to Employment
If you face challenges like unemployment, low income, lack of experience, or other employment barriers, Workforce Partnership programs (especially WIOA-funded ones) include wrap-around support — such as work-readiness training and financial assistance while training.
6. Access to Apprenticeships & Industry-Aligned Pathways
They partner with local organizations (like community colleges and union partners) to deliver apprenticeship readiness and industry-aligned programs, prepping participants for real careers in sectors like construction and trades.
7. Benefits for Businesses Too
San Diego Workforce also supports local employers with workforce solutions — like training current or new staff, hiring support, and layoff transition services — which helps build a stronger regional economy and more local job opportunities.
